    There are a total of 4,822 colleges in the United Stetes. There are 1,287 comunity colleges as of April 6, 2006,1,500 junior colleges, and 2,035 universities.

    There are a total of 4,418 colleges in the U.S.A. The 4 year colleges(universities) make up 59% of that total at 2618. The community colleges makes up the other 41% at 1800. BOOM!!!!!!!!

    2,867 schools. This would be primarily community colleges, technical colleges, and 4-year+ colleges.
